CANDY FLAVORS | What if art, design and fashion marry?

As some of you might have already guessed, it's Diane von Furstenberg, an extraordinary personality and renowned fashion designer. She was also an inspiration for one of the most famous pop art artists, Andy Warhol.

Did you know that Diane von Furstenberg posed to (now iconic) portraits by Andy Warhol? Polaroid photos by this famous artist are definitely present in today's cultural panteon. Below, you can see the beautiful effects of this cooperation.

As inspiration works in multiple ways, many years after that episode Diane von Furstenberg (with the help of Andy Warhol Foundation) created a swimwear collection using flower prints by Andy Warhol. In 2009, DVF Warhol Swim Collection appeared on fashion market, bringing together art, design and exciting history of New York bohemians of the 70's.

As you can see, marriages like that (even marriages of three) could have great impact on each other, creating new values and possibilities. Many think of art as of a way of making investments. That's true. Some would say that it doesn't serve any real purpose other than pleasing the eye. And they are also right. Others think that art is a way of expressing the mastery of a civilized man and his cultural development. And they're right, too.
